RFUK’s star fundraiser, Abigail Wheeler, is set to reach the 300-mile mark of her 1,000-mile charity walk for the rainforest this weekend! The seven-year-old decided to get active about deforestation at the start of 2017 and pledged to walk 1,000 miles, hoping to raise £1 for each mile, for RFUK!
Supported by her parents, younger sister, school and scout club, Abigail has been seeking out fun activities to take part in during her walk such as ‘nature bingo’ and ‘Gruffalo hunting’ and said she is enjoying the challenge.
Abigail, who recently received a well-wishing letter from the Queen, said she is looking forward to crossing the 500-mile mark.
“I think it will feel like going downhill for the second half,” she said. “I love that I am not just helping the rainforest but also getting exercise and being healthy!”
