The Rainforest Foundation believes that, wherever possible, local initiatives for the protection of the rights of forest people and the conservation of the forest should be run by local peoples and organisations, rather than by outsiders.
We therefore aim to help strengthen the capacity of our local partners, indigenous peoples' organisations and other groups that share our objectives, so that they can better manage field projects and advocacy programmes.
