Tackling deforestation

Ultimately, much of the Foundation’s work aims to reduce destruction of the world’s tropical rainforests. This can be achieved in a number of ways, such as helping forest communities gain rights to their land, and working to improve national and international policies and laws.

However, some of our work aims directly at tackling deforestation. This might involve helping to establish agreements between local communities about the clearance of forest land for other uses, or helping forest people challenge the activities of logging or mining companies.
