The assessment will examine:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Whether a CV certification scheme is a viable policy instrument and identify the conditions under which it could operate effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Whether a certification framework could satisfy relevant UK and European legal and policy requirement.<\/li>\n<li>How conflicts of interest and credibility risks inherent in certification systems could be avoided or mitigated.<\/li>\n<li>how a certification scheme could support community-led initiatives, Indigenous and local communities where relevant, and smaller project developers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Who Should Apply?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Applications are welcomed from individual consultants or multidisciplinary teams with expertise in environmental governance, certification systems, sustainability standards, regulatory compliance, rights-based approaches, and experience in the Congo Basin and\/or the Democratic Republic of Congo.<\/p>\n<p>The consultancy is expected to run for approximately <strong>4-6 months<\/strong>, starting in <strong>January 2027<\/strong>, with an estimated maximum input of <strong>30 consultancy days<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>How to Submit a Proposal<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Interested consultants and firms should submit their proposal by email to <strong><a href=\"mailto:procurement@rainforestuk.org\">procurement@rainforestuk.org<\/a><\/strong> no later than <strong>19 November 2026 (9AM UK time)<\/strong>.
