En el pa\u00eds viven unos cinco millones de ind\u00edgenas de 55 etnias distintas que hablan 48 lenguas. Aproximadamente una cuarta parte de la Amazonia peruana est\u00e1 titulada a comunidades ind\u00edgenas y al menos 20 de estos pueblos siguen viviendo en aislamiento voluntario.<\/p>\n<p>Las principales causas de la conversi\u00f3n y fragmentaci\u00f3n de los bosques son la agricultura comercial, la ganader\u00eda, la tala ilegal, la miner\u00eda y la producci\u00f3n de drogas, mientras que una creciente red de carreteras est\u00e1 abriendo \u00e1reas forestales previamente remotas. Alrededor de un tercio de la Amazon\u00eda peruana est\u00e1 cubierto por concesiones de petr\u00f3leo y gas, lo que incluye concesiones asignadas en tierras tituladas y \u00e1reas protegidas.<\/p>\n<p>Pero a pesar de estos retos, hay muchos motivos para la esperanza. El movimiento ind\u00edgena de Per\u00fa es fuerte, est\u00e1 bien organizado y tiene un historial de activismo intr\u00e9pido. La vigilancia forestal ind\u00edgena tambi\u00e9n tiene una larga tradici\u00f3n en el pa\u00eds y ha conseguido denunciar actividades ilegales, atajar la destrucci\u00f3n de los bosques y defender los derechos. La riqueza de los bosques de este pa\u00eds ofrece innumerables oportunidades de subsistencia que, con el apoyo adecuado, podr\u00edan reducir la pobreza de forma sostenible y clim\u00e1ticamente inteligente.<\/p>\n\t<div class=\"map_wrapper\" id=\"map_wrapper_7685\">\n<div class=\"map_box\" style=\"max-width:400px\">\n<div class=\"map_aspect_ratio\" style=\"padding-top:100%\" data-padding-top=\"100%\" data-padding-top-mobile=\"100%\">\n<div class=\"map_container\">\n<div class=\"map_render map_loading\" id=\"map_7685\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>\n\t\tNuestros impactos\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<ul>\n<li>Tras ayudar a los ash\u00e1ninkas a conseguir la titularidad legal de sus tierras en el valle del r\u00edo Ene, trabajamos junto a la organizaci\u00f3n ind\u00edgena representativa <a href=\"https:\/\/careashaninka.org\/\">CARE<\/a> para ser pioneros en medios de vida sostenibles en la regi\u00f3n. La asociaci\u00f3n de productores <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kemitoene.com\/\">Kemito Ene<\/a> fue galardonada en 2019 con el prestigioso Premio Ecuatorial de la ONU por su labor para aumentar el rendimiento del cacao respetuoso con los bosques e impulsar los ingresos de cientos de familias.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Apoyamos a las personas Ash\u00e1ninka y a CARE en una poderosa campa\u00f1a contra la represa Pakitzapango y otras infraestructuras planificadas que habr\u00edan destruido decenas de miles de hect\u00e1reas de selva tropical y habr\u00edan desarraigado comunidades ind\u00edgenas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Junto a la organizaci\u00f3n ind\u00edgena FENAMAD, nuestro sistema ForestLink est\u00e1 siendo utilizado por pueblos ind\u00edgenas en la biodiversa regi\u00f3n de Madre de Dios del pa\u00eds para defender sus territorios de la tala y miner\u00eda ilegales.
