La idea, apoyada por la comunidad internacional y los donantes, es reducir o detener las actividades humanas en las zonas forestales.<\/p>\r\n<p>Aunque la protecci\u00f3n de los bosques es un objetivo de enorme importancia, la creaci\u00f3n de zonas protegidas \"estrictas\" en el pasado ha provocado el desplazamiento y empobrecimiento de las comunidades locales e ind\u00edgenas. Este planteamiento no s\u00f3lo es profundamente injusto para las personas que han vivido en estos ecosistemas y les han dado forma durante milenios, sino que adem\u00e1s tiene un valor cuestionable en t\u00e9rminos de protecci\u00f3n de la biodiversidad y mitigaci\u00f3n del cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"translation-block\">De hecho, existen numerosas pruebas en todo el mundo -incluido el <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/es\/un-informe-de-la-onu-destaca-el-impacto-de-los-esfuerzos-de-conservacion-en-los-pueblos-indigenas-del-mundo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">Relator Especial de las Naciones Unidas sobre Pueblos Ind\u00edgenas<\/a><\/strong> - de que los bosques gestionados por comunidades locales y pueblos ind\u00edgenas funcionan mejor que las \u00e1reas protegidas excluyentes, de \"armas y guardias\".<\/p>\r\n<p>Un jefe de aldea que vive en una zona protegida de la Rep\u00fablica Democr\u00e1tica del Congo (RDC) explic\u00f3:\u00a0<em>\"Tenemos el deber de proteger nuestros bosques para el futuro de nuestros hijos. Nuestro bosque nos ayuda a educar a nuestros hijos, a mantenerlos sanos y a alimentar a nuestras familias... Nuestro bosque es nuestro futuro, es nuestra vida.\"<\/em><\/p>\r\n<p>En 2016, RFUK explor\u00f3 las deficiencias de los esfuerzos de conservaci\u00f3n en nuestro hist\u00f3rico informe\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mappingforrights.org\/resource\/protected-areas-in-the-congo-basin-failing-both-people-and-biodiversity-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00c1reas protegidas en la cuenca del Congo: \u00bfUn fracaso para la poblaci\u00f3n y la biodiversidad?<\/a><\/strong>en el que analizamos en profundidad las repercusiones sobre los derechos y medios de subsistencia de la poblaci\u00f3n local en 34 \u00e1reas protegidas de la regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\r\n<p>Como parte de nuestros esfuerzos por fomentar una conservaci\u00f3n respetuosa con las personas, estamos lanzando una serie de pel\u00edculas y blogs titulada \"Los parques forestales y las personas\". Comenzando con una visi\u00f3n general de por qu\u00e9 las personas son importantes en la conservaci\u00f3n de los bosques -y lo que puede resultar si no se les involucra-, las pel\u00edculas y los blogs contar\u00e1n con testimonios de la poblaci\u00f3n local y explorar\u00e1n cuestiones como la diferencia entre la caza de subsistencia y la caza furtiva a gran escala, la importancia de asegurar los derechos sobre la tierra y los abusos de los derechos humanos por parte de los guardaparques, as\u00ed como la c\u00f3moda relaci\u00f3n de las organizaciones de conservaci\u00f3n con la industria maderera.<\/p>\r\n<p>Esperamos que estas pel\u00edculas pongan un rostro humano a la conservaci\u00f3n y arrojen luz sobre los efectos reales y devastadores que los programas de conservaci\u00f3n de arriba abajo pueden tener en las personas, adem\u00e1s de ayudar a iniciar una conversaci\u00f3n sobre c\u00f3mo evitar repetir los errores del pasado, por el bien tanto de las personas como del planeta.<\/p>\r\n\t<h3>Base de datos de parques y poblaciones de la selva tropical<\/h3>\r\n<p class=\"translation-block\">En un esfuerzo por promover la transparencia y el escrutinio de los esfuerzos de conservaci\u00f3n en las selvas tropicales de la cuenca del Congo, tambi\u00e9n hemos lanzado un <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/rainforestparksandpeople.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nuevo sitio web interactivo<\/a><\/strong> sobre el impacto humano de las \u00e1reas protegidas<strong>. <\/strong>La base de datos \"Rainforest Parks and People\" presenta informaci\u00f3n detallada sobre 34 \u00e1reas protegidas, destacando su impacto en las personas que viven en ellas.
