{"id":3141,"date":"2022-04-21T00:00:44","date_gmt":"2022-04-21T00:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/?p=3141"},"modified":"2022-10-11T16:47:03","modified_gmt":"2022-10-11T16:47:03","slug":"sobre-las-areas-protegidas-y-los-derechos-de-los-pueblos-indigenas-una-presentacion-al-relator-especial-de-la-onu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/es\/on-protected-areas-and-indigenous-peoples-rights-a-submission-to-the-un-special-rapporteur\/","title":{"rendered":"Sobre las \u00e1reas protegidas y los derechos de los pueblos ind\u00edgenas: Una presentaci\u00f3n al Relator Especial de la ONU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>En una comunicaci\u00f3n al Relator Especial de la ONU sobre los Derechos de los Pueblos Ind\u00edgenas de pr\u00f3xima aparici\u00f3n <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohchr.org\/en\/calls-for-input\/calls-input\/call-submissions-protected-areas-and-indigenous-peoples-rights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">informe sobre el impacto de las \u00e1reas protegidas<\/a> a la Asamblea General de la ONU en su 77\u00ba periodo de sesiones, RFUK ha advertido de que, a pesar de que se diga lo contrario de boquilla, los programas convencionales de conservaci\u00f3n y cambio clim\u00e1tico siguen causando estragos en los pueblos ind\u00edgenas y otras comunidades dependientes de los bosques.<\/p>\r\n<p>Bas\u00e1ndose en tres d\u00e9cadas de experiencia trabajando estrechamente con comunidades ind\u00edgenas y dependientes de los bosques en la cuenca del Congo -que sufren las consecuencias de programas de conservaci\u00f3n que en gran medida las alienan, criminalizan su modo de vida tradicional y glorifican la aplicaci\u00f3n de la ley al estilo militar-, la presentaci\u00f3n defiende que se obligue a las ONG conservacionistas a prevenir, mitigar y remediar los abusos contra los derechos humanos que hayan causado o a los que hayan contribuido.<\/p>\r\n<blockquote><p>\"Es muy preocupante que hasta ahora se haya permitido a las grandes ONG conservacionistas operar con mucho menos escrutinio o rendici\u00f3n de cuentas de lo que esperamos de las empresas, a pesar de que los programas de conservaci\u00f3n conllevan enormes riesgos inherentes para los derechos humanos que son tan grandes, si no mayores, que los que plantean los proyectos del sector privado. La necesidad de precisar las obligaciones de las ONG es a\u00fan m\u00e1s acuciante en contextos como el de la cuenca del Congo, donde la conservaci\u00f3n financiada por la ayuda significa de hecho apoyar a fuerzas paramilitares fuertemente armadas y mal entrenadas, sin apenas salvaguardias ni acceso a la justicia para los habitantes vulnerables de la selva que son objeto de ataques injustos.\"<\/p><\/blockquote>\r\n<p><strong>- Maud Salber, Coordinadora Principal de Proyectos sobre Conservaci\u00f3n y Derechos Humanos en RFUK<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>Este pr\u00f3ximo informe es una excelente oportunidad para aprovechar el creciente consenso sobre el hecho de que las ONG conservacionistas, al igual que las empresas, est\u00e1n sujetas a las leyes de la UE. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unglobalcompact.org\/library\/2?msclkid=a3c129efc14411ec9d0cdde1f57e33fd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Principios rectores de la ONU sobre las empresas y los derechos humanos<\/a>.
