Dada la importancia del caso para la defensa de los derechos ind\u00edgenas y el medio ambiente, deseamos llamar la atenci\u00f3n de la comunidad internacional y de la sociedad civil peruana, sobre el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=602490445431998&amp;set=pcb.602491022098607\">declaraci\u00f3n<\/a> que la CARE ha publicado al respecto y exhortar al Estado Peruano a garantizar el debido proceso y el estricto respeto de los derechos del Sr. Valerio.<\/p>\n<p>El Ministerio P\u00fablico investiga a \u00c1ngel Pedro Valerio, as\u00ed como a otros siete l\u00edderes ind\u00edgenas, por su presunta implicaci\u00f3n en la desaparici\u00f3n de cuatro personas en la Comunidad Nativa de Puerto Ocopa en abril de 2023. Sin embargo, CARE y la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forestpeoples.org\/es\/node\/50050\">Asociaci\u00f3n\nInter\u00e9tnica de Desarrollo de la Selva Peruana<\/a>\u00a0(AIDESEP) han se\u00f1alado diversas irregularidades y califican de \"arbitraria\" la inclusi\u00f3n del Sr. Valerio en esta investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>En este contexto, desde RFUK:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Solicitamos al sistema de justicia del Per\u00fa que aclare los hechos relacionados con la participaci\u00f3n de \u00c1ngel Pedro Valerio y otros l\u00edderes ind\u00edgenas en los sucesos del 14 de abril de 2023 de manera exhaustiva y sin prejuicios, garantizando un proceso imparcial y transparente.<\/li>\n<li>Instamos a que contin\u00fae la investigaci\u00f3n preliminar de acuerdo con los m\u00e1s altos est\u00e1ndares de respeto a los derechos humanos, asegurando que todos los procedimientos y diligencias se realicen con total transparencia y pleno respeto por el debido proceso.<\/li>\n<li>Reiteramos nuestra posici\u00f3n en contra de cualquier forma de persecuci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica, y exigimos que la b\u00fasqueda de la verdad no se convierta en un pretexto para atacar a \u00c1ngel Pedro Valerio ni a la Central Ash\u00e1ninka del r\u00edo Ene (CARE) de la que \u00e9l es presidente.<\/li>\n<li>Hacemos un llamado a la comunidad internacional y a las organizaciones de la sociedad civil peruana a mantener una vigilancia constante sobre este caso y a respaldar los esfuerzos por garantizar la justicia y la seguridad en la regi\u00f3n.<\/li>\n<li>Instamos a los donantes que apoyan a defensores y defensoras ind\u00edgenas, a movilizar fondos de urgencia para apoyar a la CARE en sus esfuerzos por garantizar los derechos fundamentales de su presidente.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>En \u00faltima instancia, nuestro compromiso es con la defensa de los derechos de los Ash\u00e1ninkas y la preservaci\u00f3n de su tierra y ambiente.
