RFUK a depuis longtemps compris que les femmes ont un r\u00f4le central \u00e0 jouer dans la protection et la gestion des for\u00eats tropicales \u00e0 travers le monde. Les populations qui d\u00e9pendent de ces for\u00eats y trouvent la nourriture, l\u2019eau et les m\u00e9dicaments dont elles ont besoin pour leur subsistance. Au fil des g\u00e9n\u00e9rations, ces populations ont acquis et se sont transmis des connaissances et savoir-faire pour prot\u00e9ger la biodiversit\u00e9 de leurs for\u00eats. Notre travail se repose sur leur savoir et celui de nos organisations partenaires en Afrique et au P\u00e9rou. L\u2019un de nos objectifs et de soutenir les femmes dans la d\u00e9fense leurs droits, afin qu\u2019elles puissent jouer un plus grand r\u00f4le dans la gestion de leurs for\u00eats coutumi\u00e8res.<\/p>\r\n

En cette Journ\u00e9e internationale de la femme, nous c\u00e9l\u00e9brons ces femmes qui contribuent de mani\u00e8re significative au travail que nous accomplissons ensemble. Nous avons discut\u00e9 avec certaines d'entre elles pour en savoir plus sur leur exp\u00e9rience:<\/p>\r\n

B\u00e9nitha est une responsable de terrain pour notre partenaire local GASHE, qui travaille sur le projet RFUK\u00a0\u00ab Suivi communautaire en Temps R\u00e9el \u00bb (STR) via ForestLink<\/a>\u00a0La pr\u00e9sence d\u2019une femme sur le terrain a \u00e9t\u00e9 extr\u00eamement important pour encourager des femmes \u00e0 participer aux activit\u00e9s du projet. Apr\u00e8s l'avoir vue en action, les m\u00e8res des communaut\u00e9s que nous accompagnons ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu'elles faisaient de leur mieux pour garder leurs filles \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole afin qu'elles deviennent \u00ab comme Mama B\u00e9nitha\u00bb, ce qui est tr\u00e8s gratifiant pour elle.<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t\"B\u00e9nitha,\r\n\t\tB\u00e9nitha, facilitateur de terrain RTM RDC, suivi des alertes ForestLink d'infractions foresti\u00e8res \u00a9 GASHE\r\n\t

En RDC \u00e9galement, Genevi\u00e8ve Bolaboto, est l\u2019une des observatrices de Bolukiluki qui v\u00e9rifie si les droits des communaut\u00e9s vivant dans, ou \u00e0 proximit\u00e9, des aires prot\u00e9g\u00e9es, des programmes REDD + et des concessions foresti\u00e8res communautaires, sont respect\u00e9s. Elle a expliqu\u00e9 que \u00ab le projet est important pour d\u00e9fendre les droits des femmes, en particulier leurs droits \u00e0 la terre et aux ressources foresti\u00e8res \u00bb. Elle a \u00e9galement expliqu\u00e9 que dans les organisations de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 civile en RDC, les postes de direction sont souvent occup\u00e9s par des hommes. \u00ab Je vois des progr\u00e8s, mais il y a encore du travail \u00e0 faire.\u00bb<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t\"Genevi\u00e8ve\r\n\t\tGenevi\u00e8ve Bolaboto, observatrice de Bolukiluki en RDC\r\n\t

In\u00e8s Gady Mvoukani travaille pour le Comptoir Juridique Junior (CJJ), \u00e0 Brazzaville en R\u00e9publique du Congo. In\u00e8s est juriste de formation et a occup\u00e9 pendant pr\u00e8s de 15 ans les fonctions d'Assistante Juridique, de coordinatrice des programmes et d'associ\u00e9-pays for\u00eats et climat. In\u00e8s explique que son exp\u00e9rience en tant que femme dans la gouvernance foresti\u00e8re n'a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 facile : elle a d\u00fb faire ses preuves, car les hommes ont encore du mal \u00e0 accepter les femmes en raison des st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes et des charges du m\u00e9nage que les femmes se cens\u00e9s assumer. \u00ab Aujourd'hui, je peux affirmer que les femmes ont montr\u00e9 qu'elles ont les comp\u00e9tences n\u00e9cessaires et que leur participation dans le secteur forestier deviennent de plus en plus vitale, mais elles ne sont pas nombreuses. De ce fait, un grand travail de renforcement des capacit\u00e9s doit se faire pour avoir plus de femmes en position de leadership sur les questions de gouvernance foresti\u00e8re en R\u00e9publique du Congo \u00bb.<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t\"Ines,\r\n\t\tInes, Assistante Juridique du CJJ et coordinatrice des programmes, animant une session de formation en R\u00e9publique du Congo \u00a9 CJJ\r\n\t

Chez RFUK \u00e0 Londres, les femmes repr\u00e9sentent plus de 50% de l'\u00e9quipe et leur contribution est inestimable.<\/p>\r\n

Elin Roberts est la Coordinatrice du Syst\u00e8me d'information g\u00e9ographique (SIG) et de la base de donn\u00e9es de RFUK; elle travaille au sein d'une petite \u00e9quipe technique charg\u00e9e de soutenir de nombreux projets, qu'il s'agisse de surveiller la d\u00e9forestation dans les concessions foresti\u00e8res depuis l'espace, de cartographier les terres communautaires ou de d\u00e9velopper des applications pour transmettre des donn\u00e9es en temps r\u00e9el.<\/p>\r\n

Elle nous a dit que la chose la plus excitante dans son travail est \"qu'il n'est jamais banal et qu'il \u00e9volue constamment ; j'aime particuli\u00e8rement tester des fa\u00e7ons nouvelles et innovantes de faire les choses\".<\/p>\r\n

\"Travailler au RFUK est formidable, car il y a tant de mod\u00e8les f\u00e9minins dont on peut s'inspirer et s'enrichir\".<\/p>\r\n
