{"id":3264,"date":"2022-07-05T00:00:51","date_gmt":"2022-07-05T00:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/?p=3264"},"modified":"2022-10-12T16:10:57","modified_gmt":"2022-10-12T16:10:57","slug":"la-fort-sacree-de-la-communaute-massaha-du-gabon-est-en-cours-dexploitation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/fr\/gabons-massaha-community-sacred-forest-being-logged-despite-government-assurances-for-it-to-become-a-community-protected-area\/","title":{"rendered":"La for\u00eat sacr\u00e9e de la communaut\u00e9 massaha du Gabon est en cours d'exploitation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>La for\u00eat sacr\u00e9e de la communaut\u00e9 de Massaha fait l'objet d'une exploitation foresti\u00e8re malgr\u00e9 les assurances donn\u00e9es par le gouvernement pour qu'elle devienne la toute premi\u00e8re aire prot\u00e9g\u00e9e communautaire du Gabon.<\/p>\r\n<p>L'exploitation foresti\u00e8re a repris dans le nord-est du Gabon, dans la for\u00eat ancestrale de la communaut\u00e9 locale de Massaha, d'une diversit\u00e9 bioculturelle unique, malgr\u00e9 l'engagement pris par le minist\u00e8re des for\u00eats de suspendre toutes les op\u00e9rations d'exploitation du bois dans la r\u00e9gion et de soutenir les efforts de la communaut\u00e9 pour cr\u00e9er la premi\u00e8re aire prot\u00e9g\u00e9e communautaire du pays.<sup>1<\/sup><\/p>\r\n<p>La for\u00eat de Massaha est couverte par la concession foresti\u00e8re de Transport Bois N\u00e9goce International (TBNI).<sup>2<\/sup>dont le sous-traitant Wan Chuan Timber Sarl (WCTS)<sup>3<\/sup>\u00a0effectue l'exploitation foresti\u00e8re actuelle. L'exploitation foresti\u00e8re et la construction de routes par les deux entreprises chinoises dans la r\u00e9gion ont \u00e9t\u00e9 document\u00e9es comme enfreignant de nombreux aspects de la loi foresti\u00e8re gabonaise, notamment la destruction de villages ancestraux, d'un site sacr\u00e9 et de zones \u00e9cologiquement sensibles.<sup>4<\/sup><\/p>\r\n<p>Suite au toll\u00e9 de la communaut\u00e9 et des organisations internationales, le Ministre Lee White a rendu visite \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 en mars 2022 et s'est engag\u00e9 \u00e0 mettre fin aux activit\u00e9s de l'entreprise.  Il a \u00e9galement accord\u00e9 un d\u00e9lai de deux mois \u00e0 son minist\u00e8re, en collaboration avec la communaut\u00e9 de Massaha, pour remplir les documents n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation de l'aire prot\u00e9g\u00e9e.<\/p>\r\n<p>La communaut\u00e9 a soumis la d\u00e9marcation requise de la zone dans une lettre \u00e0 l'administration dat\u00e9e du 3 mai 2022, mais n'a re\u00e7u aucune r\u00e9ponse.<\/p>\r\n<p>Aujourd'hui, l'exploitation foresti\u00e8re a repris malgr\u00e9 l'arr\u00eat promis. Le 1er juillet 2022, une patrouille communautaire a photographi\u00e9 les activit\u00e9s ill\u00e9gales en cours, notamment l'abattage d'arbres dans les cours d'eau et la pose de pi\u00e8ges par les employ\u00e9s du WCTS, \u00e0 seulement 1,1 km de la limite sud-ouest de l'aire prot\u00e9g\u00e9e communautaire propos\u00e9e, vers laquelle elle progressait rapidement (la pi\u00e8ce jointe).<\/p>\r\n<p>La communaut\u00e9 a nomm\u00e9 cette zone\u00a0<em>Ibola Dja Bana Ba Massaha\u00a0<\/em>- la r\u00e9serve de tous les enfants de Massaha.
