{"id":5167,"date":"2022-11-10T09:30:31","date_gmt":"2022-11-10T09:30:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/?p=5167"},"modified":"2022-11-10T09:31:02","modified_gmt":"2022-11-10T09:31:02","slug":"nouvelles-cartes-demontrant-que-le-bassin-congo-est-lepicentre-de-lexpansion-du-petrole-et-du-gaz-menaces-pour-les-forets-tropicales","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/fr\/new-maps-show-the-congo-basin-is-the-epicenter-of-oil-and-gas-expansion-threats-to-tropical-forests\/","title":{"rendered":"De nouvelles cartes montrent que le bassin du Congo est l'\u00e9picentre des menaces que l'expansion p\u00e9troli\u00e8re et gazi\u00e8re fait peser sur les for\u00eats tropicales"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Le RFUK et Earth InSight viennent de publier un nouveau rapport, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Congo-in-the-Crosshairs-Report-EN.pdf\">LE CONGO DANS LA LIGNE DE MIRE<\/a><\/em>qui montre comment l'expansion du p\u00e9trole et du gaz dans le bassin du Congo constitue une menace existentielle de plus en plus grave pour le climat mondial et pour la deuxi\u00e8me plus grande for\u00eat tropicale du monde, ainsi que pour les dizaines de millions de personnes qui y vivent. <\/p>\n\t<p>Une cartographie et une analyse compl\u00e8tes des blocs p\u00e9troliers et gaziers en Afrique et dans le Bassin du Congo montrent que :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Malgr\u00e9 la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de mettre fin \u00e0 l'expansion du p\u00e9trole et du gaz dans le monde, la superficie des terres allou\u00e9es \u00e0 la production de <\/span><b>p\u00e9trole et de gaz sur le continent africain est appel\u00e9e \u00e0 quadrupler.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Les blocs d'exploration p\u00e9troli\u00e8re et gazi\u00e8re recouvrent 30% des for\u00eats tropicales denses d'Afrique, dont <\/span><b>90% dans le bassin du Congo.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Dans le bassin du Congo, plus de 180 millions d'hectares de for\u00eats tropicales denses subsistent encore et <\/span><b>plus de 35 % de ces for\u00eats essentielles, soit 64 millions d'hectares (une superficie \u00e9quivalente \u00e0 pr\u00e8s de deux fois la taille de l'Allemagne), chevauchent d\u00e9sormais des blocs p\u00e9troliers et gaziers existants ou pr\u00e9vus.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Plus de 150 groupes ethniques distincts ont \u00e9lu domicile dans le bassin du Congo et <\/span><b>plus de 35 millions de personnes, soit 20 % de la population des pays du bassin du Congo, se trouvent actuellement dans des blocs p\u00e9troliers et gaziers existants ou d\u00e9sign\u00e9s.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/map2_infographic-826x1024.png\" alt=\"Congo Crosshairs (carte 2)\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"1024\" width=\"826\" title=\"Congo Crosshairs (carte 2)\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t<ul>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Un examen attentif de l'exploitation p\u00e9troli\u00e8re qui a d\u00e9j\u00e0 eu lieu en RDC et aussi au Nigeria r\u00e9v\u00e8le des <\/span><b>impacts d\u00e9sastreux sur la sant\u00e9, les moyens de subsistance et les droits humains<\/b> des communaut\u00e9s locales et constitue un avertissement pour le Bassin du Congo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Il est <\/span><b>encore temps pour les nations africaines et la communaut\u00e9 internationale de tracer une voie diff\u00e9rente<\/b> qui favorise le bien-\u00eatre \u00e9conomique tout en prot\u00e9geant les for\u00eats essentielles et les communaut\u00e9s qui en d\u00e9pendent. Les investissements cl\u00e9s comprennent l'exploitation du vaste potentiel du continent en mati\u00e8re d'\u00e9nergies renouvelables et le renforcement du soutien direct aux communaut\u00e9s foresti\u00e8res et aux autres d\u00e9fenseurs des for\u00eats en premi\u00e8re ligne.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Les plans actuels d'exploitation du p\u00e9trole et du gaz dans les for\u00eats de la RDC auraient des r\u00e9percussions majeures sur les efforts mondiaux visant \u00e0 limiter le r\u00e9chauffement de la plan\u00e8te au seuil de 1,5\u00b0C au-dessus des niveaux pr\u00e9industriels. Pourtant, les partenaires internationaux de la RDC n'ont jusqu'\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent pas r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 faire face \u00e0 la menace qui p\u00e8se sur ce puits de carbone vital. Il est encore temps pour les nations africaines et la communaut\u00e9 internationale de tracer une voie diff\u00e9rente, mais des mesures significatives doivent \u00eatre prises maintenant s'il y a un espoir de prot\u00e9ger les for\u00eats essentielles et les communaut\u00e9s qui en d\u00e9pendent.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\"Nous ne devons pas laisser une expansion chaotique des combustibles fossiles dans le bassin du Congo mettre en p\u00e9ril nos pr\u00e9cieuses for\u00eats tropicales, les hauts lieux de la biodiversit\u00e9 tels que le parc national des Virunga, ainsi que les droits et les moyens de subsistance des communaut\u00e9s foresti\u00e8res qui ressentent d\u00e9j\u00e0 les effets du changement climatique.
