Do you support Rainforest Foundation UK’s mission to protect tropical forests and tackle the climate crisis by defending the rights of Indigenous Peoples and other local communities?
RFUK is committed to both human rights and environmental protection when it comes to tackling deforestation. Locally, we support forest communities to gain land rights, challenge destructive industries, manage their forests and protect their environment. Globally, we campaign to influence national and international laws and policies that protect rainforests and their inhabitants.
Instead of conserving forests purely for their biodiversity or carbon values, RFUK promotes the establishment of community rights over rainforest lands, tackling the root causes of deforestation and paving the way for local people to benefit fairly from the use and protection of forest resources.
Our global team
RFUK’s main office is in London with our staff also based in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Peru and France.
Our long-term partnerships with local and Indigenous Peoples’ organisations in the Congo Basin, Amazon and other tropical regions are at the core of what we do, ensuring that we can deliver our work effectively and that capacity is sustained where it is most needed.
Our culture
Our committed, dynamic and diverse team all have one thing in common: we believe passionately in RFUK’s mission, values and unique approach to social justice. While this means we are hardworking, we are also proud to provide a flexible, family-friendly and inclusive work environment that values our staff’s wellbeing and professional development. Our remote team comes together at least twice a year for strategy, training and team-building days. We also have online learning and sharing sessions every fortnight where we can learn from each other.
